Get the Word Out!

Since the moment I had the idea to start this blog, I knew I wanted to include this post. I wanted to make available as many resources as I knew of to help people come to the same realization about their health as I did. Seriously, the stuff I learned was mind-blowing. You know how sometimes you think you know all there is to know about something? Or that you’re as informed as possible about a subject? Well, that was how I felt about nutrition. WRONG. I might as well of been clueless. There are 2 sides to every story and I believe it is time for people to learn the other side.

Mind blowing movies that will change your diet FOREVER!

This is the movie that really did it for us. It’s also been a popular motivator for many celebrities- Russell Brand, Eliza Dushku, Jason Mraz, Kristen Bell, and Dax Shepherd. It highlights the MANY astounding health benefits of the vegan diet. Watch Forks over Knives HERE for free.

Mind blowing movies that will change your diet FOREVER!

This movie was not so much informational as it was inspirational. The film follows Joe, a man with a debilitating autoimmune disease, head across country and document his 60 day juice fast to improve his health and cure his disease. Along the way he runs into another overweight man with the same rare disease. He encourages this man to go on a 60 day juice fast as well. You see both men go through 2 incredible journeys to cure themselves of what medicine could not. Available on Netflix Instant. Watch the trailer HERE.

This movie features a lot of the health related information related to a nutritious lifestyle. It focuses a lot on disease and how your diet can affect it. It really is truly enlightening. This is one I really recommend watching, especially if you have a history of disease in your family. Available on Netflix Instant. Learn more HERE.

Created by the same company that filmed “Food Matters” and starring Joe Cross from “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead“, this movie exposes the secrets that diet, weight loss, and food industries hide all to put money in their own pockets. Available on Netflix Instant. Learn more HERE.

vegucated-movie

This one was probably my least favorite, but it’s nice because it touches on all the issues- healthy, planet, and animal cruelty. It takes 3 ordinary individuals and challenges them to live as vegans for 6 weeks. During that time the coordinator tries to inspire them to continue with the lifestyle. Available on Netflix Instant. More info HERE.

The list of ground breaking books on nutrition could be endless if I let it, so let’s just narrow that down to a few of the best rated:

Does anybody have any other resources that they highly recommend that I add to this list??

Hey Laura! I’m afraid to watch these. I may have been misinformed, but do lots of them actually show behind-the-scenes slaughter house clips and other horrible animal cruelty stuff? I know it’s happening and that’s why I choose to eat vegan…after I read Skinny Bitch I had nightmares for months

If you’re worried about that then just avoid Vegucated. That ones the worst. Maybe Food, Inc. too… but the health ones aren’t gruesome at all. They just focus on the nutrition aspect. I’ve never read Skinny Bitch- I’ll have to look into it!

It’s a fantastic Vegan book but the chapter on animal cruelty was so heart breaking to me. I couldn’t get the images out of my mind.
