Things have been nuts here. Trying to settle into a new routine and life in America, living with my parents, has been a lot more daunting then I imagined… but were managing. I’m just not managing well with my blog. Ha- obviously.

So to keep things short and sweet since I’m pressed on time and organized thoughts, I am just going to throw one of my new favorite smoothie recipes at you.

I’ve been trying like heck to find a way to incorporate raw broccoli into a smoothie without having that sharp, spiciness that often comes with it. With some trial and error I was able to find the perfect winning combination:

Apple juice, banana, broccoli, a touch of lemon, and a dab of avocado.

Creamy.

Cool.

Refreshing.

Delicious!

Raw Broccoli Smoothie

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup apple juice
  • ½ cup raw broccoli florets (1.5 ounces/45 grams- about 4 florets)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons mashed avocado (about ⅛ an avocado)
  • 1 cup ice
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients except for ice in blender. Process until completely smooth and creamy. Add ice and process again until smooth. Serve.

    Have you tried to use steamed broccoli instead?
    I hear that it has more vitamin C than regular broccoli.
    I also just tried a similar smoothie with some lemon and cranberry in it, apple, broccoli.

    Try and tested and I love it.
    I added half an avocado and 80 grams of broccoli.
